How long does the chemical treatment last?

The chemical treatment lasts approximately 3 months depending on weather and environmental conditions.

If it rains, do I need another exterior treatment?

No, once the chemical is dry it adheres to the exterior of the home and will not be washed off. It only takes about 10-15 minutes for the chemical to dry.

Is this harmful to pets or children?

No. We would ask for pets to be kenneled or removed from the home for about 1 hour so they don’t lay or walk-in treated areas. Once it is dry it is okay for pets to have the run of the house. We recommend small children under school age to be out of the house for about an hour until all is dry for the same reasons.

Does the chemical have an odor?

Yes, some of our chemicals do have an odor. In some cases, we may have other low odor options. If the odor bothers you, you can open up your windows to create ventilation or leave the home for about an hour.   

I’m seeing more bugs after you came, why is that?

The chemical acts as a flushing agent to flush them out of their hiding spots. Once they emerge from their hiding spots, they will cross the chemical barrier and will be dying.

Why is the clean out price more than a treatment plan?

For a clean out treatment, we use a max strength chemical as an initial knockdown treatment.

Will The Chemical Stain my floors or baseboards?

Some could, but at Emerick Pest Control we are conscious of this and use care to protect your home and property by applying appropriate products.  

How long does it take for the chemical to dry?

Depending on the humidity and moisture level of the home and the type of surface it was applied to, it takes between 20-30 minutes for it to dry completely. 

What payment options do you have?

Cash, check, Master Card, Visa, and Discover credit cards. You can call the office with your credit card payments. For your convenience, we can also set up a recurring payment for each treatment. Feel free to also drop your payment off at the office or simply give it to the technician while he is there to save on postage.

Why is it important to continue to spray during the winter?

Insects are going to live in an environment that is generally above 50 degrees. During the winter, houses are usually heated between 60-70 degrees which is an ideal environment for insects to survive.
